2012 Mad Tea Party

Welcome to the 2012 Mad Tea Party!!

It's been a couple of years since the last time I participated

I'm excited to be able to play along this year, so let's begin. :)

"The time has come, my little friends, to talk of other things
Of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings
And why the sea is boiling hot, and whether pigs have wigs!
Calloo, Callay, come run away, with cabbages and kings!"

{Song Played Here}

One morning, the sun rose and I thought to myself, "what a pretty day for tea."

A good thing to think that, since the party wasn't just for me.

We prepared all the goodies and made a nice batch of tea

Alice filled each and every tea pot against the dormouse's plea

Alice wanted to participate, but focus she could not

Not with all the candy glowing in shiny transparent pots

My sister and Mad Hatter were the decorator's here-in

While I joyously ran amok, flailing my arms around like fins

Our beloved doornknob left behind a key, a mystery to discover

All the while, the Queen of Hearts had a rose crime to uncover

As defense, the feared queen sent out her best and favorite suit

But all he did was come around and cause a great big hoot

He asked for a cup of tea, how could I possibly refuse?

Rude manners are not allowed! At that, he was quite amused.

He picked a pretty tea cup, the prettiest of them all

I quickly then poured the tea until his cup grew 8 feet tall

We all then sat around on such a hot hot day

And sipped tea, nibbled on cupcakes and watched Alice play

Bubble Gum went all around, a contest to be bubbly

The children had 9 pieces each, giggling as their cheeks grew chubby

The Hatter, being mad, wore a silly hat for certain

He even brought a silly cup, curious for a mad person ;)

Suddenly out of the corner of my eye, what did I see?

A sneaky sneak of candy, trying to hide from me

Skittles, I admit, are a challenge to ignore

Cupcakes are much muchier, and even harder to abhor

What beautiful cupcakes, don't they look divine?

Delicious pink and chocolate, absolutely sublime!

Even if you resisted, a message you will have seen

Inviting you to join in the fun, a way to avoid the queen

If you still managed to have a strong power of will

The hatter himself would've made you something great with his spectacular grill

The magic that was created caused Alice such glee

She smiled so big, her spirit so free

Then she giggled and pointed to creatures hidden so well

Creatures who, themselves, had secrets to tell

They shared funny stories and wrinkled their noses

Then *Snap* went the camera as they paused for poses

The Hatter set his drink down and caused a commotion

Then suddenly the tea cups danced the locomotion!

The entire rainbow had then been tasted and forgotten

Yet the rose-a-licious cake is still lovely, nice and frosted

Now please take a piece of rose cake, as it is time to leave

But first, a good-bye wish for all of you to see...

Thank you very much, for spending time with me

It means so much to share some laughs, a story and some tea

I hope that you had fun here and solved some mystery

About what its like to have some fun, and build a memory

The blogosphere is sweet, for a blessing it bestows:

A family base across the world that grows and grows and grows.

We had lots of fun with you, the Wonderland gang and me

We hope the next year of your lives fill you with magic, happiness and glee.

Speaking of happiness and glee, I have now officially posted over 100 blog posts and have over 100 blog followers! YAY!! In celebration of that (and the tea party of course), I have decided to do a giveaway. How would you like to win the the Alice In Wonderland movie??

The rules are simple. Mention that you want to enter the giveaway in your comment and your name will be entered into the drawing. I will announce the winner on Friday, August 3rd. How does that sound? :)

Thank you for a wonderful time! I'd love to win the movie, but if I'm not chosen, not to worry. There seems to be plenty of Alice to go around. Maybe I'll see you again next year.
