Essence Of Etsy & Giveaway!

To me, Etsy really is the best place to buy and sell all things handmade (as well as some things not handmade). The sellers of Etsy are unique, helpful, passionate, extremely considerate and giving to their customers. If you are like me and wonder where all of the good customer service went, I have found the answer. As it turns out, not just good but EXCELLENT customer service has moved itself over to Etsy.

There is a possibility that I am biased based on the fact that I am not just a buyer, but a seller on Etsy as well. However, being a seller makes me an extremely picky customer because I look at:

* Product Quality
* Quantity
* Packaging
* Customer Service
* Shipping & Receiving
* Professionalism
* Shop policies
* Pricing

If I were to jump back in time before I became a seller, I would probably pay attention to only two things (And I admit, I still shop like this sometimes):

* Whether or not I like the item
* Whether or not it's an "I-don't-care-if-I-have-to-eat-beans-for-the-rest-of-the-week-just-so-that-I-can-get-it" item.

As a seller, I can honestly say that Etsy has phenomenal business help. They have a huge range of advice from pictures to taxes, from admin emails to seller forums. To sellers, Etsy is more than a website. It has become a community, a business family and a consultation site. Not to mention the fact that Etsy is so highly looked upon, that sellers have been picked by galleries, stores and magazines to have their work featured.

As a buyer, I can tell you that Etsy has a huge variety of goods. From furniture to art, from vintage items to cupcakes, there is something for everyone. With such a huge variety of goods also comes a variety of price points. You can buy anything from $1.00 to $3,000 and up. Not to mention the excellent customer service :)

I would also like to say that when you're having a bad day (like today, I've been stuck in bed sick for the past few days and have a million things to be responsible for), an Etsy package is just the thing to put a big smile on your face like this: =D.

I even have evidence to back up my strong belief. I got a package from Krista today...would you like to open it with me? Okay good :) You see, all this girl really wanted was this beautiful piece of art:

So I purchased it with excitement and patiently awaited it's arrival:

Upon closer inspection, I noticed the awe-inspiring, sewing machine care that was put into the packaging:

And then I noticed this little lovely waiting to greet me:

The outstanding care on the outside of the package is enough to make me happy, but I couldn't help but giggle with excitement when I saw this. It felt like Christmas! :)

The business card was like a little piece of art in itself

Even the envelope had some visual goodness

(above = front of envelope. below = back of envelope)

I bet you're thinking, "Yeah, Yeah. What's INSIDE the envelope?" Am I right? :) Well, here you have it. The best thank you card I have ever seen:

(Above = front of card. Below = back of card)

Did I mention that the pretty girl on the front of the card is not just a piece of art, but a magnet as well? And the card was sewn too!...Amazing! :)

Then, I finally got to what I was originally after in the first place

So there you have it. Homemade, Home packaged, Home to love. ETSY love! This Lynda Wilson is one happy customer! If you love this, you should definitely check out her shop. Just click HERE.

Okay, so maybe that's just one seller, right? Well a few weeks ago, I ordered two stamps from a different seller named terbear. Instead of Two stamps, I got THREE stamps, a business card magnet AND a cute little bag with a bear on it :)This sellers shop can be found HERE.

Last but not least, the trade that I posted in my last post. I am not sure if anyone was interested in participating (I should have mentioned for participants to mention that they wanted to trade, lol. Learning curve I suppose). Instead, I am offering it as a GIVEAWAY! :) Just leave a comment letting me know that you are interested in winning, and I will announce the winner in my next post.

The Giveaway:

As far as my personal art business:

I am working on some new Youtube videos as well as finishing up a few commissions. I have been really sick lately so as soon as I feel better, I will be back at the painting table to create some good stuff for my own Etsy shop, as well as photos to update you with. :)

Have a good week guys and girls!
